Without seeing your ad it is hard to tell but the most important elements in a successful Facebook ad are:
- The offer: make sure what you are offering truly has appeal (I am assuming this is not your issue because you have happy customers)
- The image: For Facebook the image is more important than most other channels. Make sure it is relevant to your audience and that it evokes a strong emotion. We see a lot of otherwise great ads that try to use a 'shocker' that has nothing to do with the offer.
- The copy: Make sure it alludes to a common pain point or desire
- The targeting: Other than the offer, this is the most important part. The legendary copywriter Gary Halbert used to ask his students a question. If you were going into the burger business and you could have one advantage over your competitors, what would it be? They would invariable say things like: the freshest ingredients, the best location, the highest quality meat etc. To which he would answer, the most devastating advantage to have over your competitors is a "hungry crowd".
