My Favorite SEO plugin for WordPress is Yoast SEO.
You can get the plugin for free via wordpress.org. After you install it, it does a lot for you right out of the box. Overall it does the most important things, and it's easy to use.

- It does a lot 'out of the box'
- XML Sitemap
- "templates" for SEO titles (title tags) and Meta descriptions
- Canonical and other tags
- Easy to configure basic schema and seo data
- You can easily specify a title and description for any page or post
- There's a form to list your social profiles to create 'sameas' schema
- breadcrumbs are sort of simple to set up
- site search schema is just built in
- Moz has more information about setting it up
- Well maintained and Updated for SEO changes
- they updated it very frequently (this can get annoying if you don't like updating your site all the time)
- It's compatible with cutting edge stuff like AMP
- Any kind of security holes would be fixed quickly
