A few quick thoughts BigSparra:
- Your images could be improved significantly. They are not enticing and yet a consumable product like coffee is the perfect one to have 'lifelike' images of the coffee bags or coffee beans. As ecommerce gets increasingly competitive, those with high quality images are faring better. Imagine showing a large image of perfectly roasted beans or a pouring a freshly brewed cup of coffee in a pleasant environment. And photography always beats drawings 9 times out 10!
- As you are an artisanal brand some additional story telling can help your cause. More detail on how the beans are sourced and maybe even pictures of the coffee farms of the growers. I recently came across a celebrity coffee brand that is sold exclusively through Costco and they do really good story telling--show the farmers and the projects that the brand has supported to improve these farmers lives in the third world. I immediately felt connected to the brand. The founder also tells the story of the first time he visited village X (don't remember its name) and how he decided he would do something about the peasant farmers barely eking out a living. You don't need to go to such extremes but I think there is something charming about an authentically Scottish brand that could be brought out more.
- By the way another good example of the previous point is the EqualExchange brand. When I rented office space from Impact Hub in Seattle I could not help but notice their beans and attractive packaging, along with the story:

- Avoid the large contact form on the home page. It looks amateurish. Make it a separate page and use that valuable real estate to showcase more of your products.
- Lastly, this is a super competitive field. I did a search on "ethically sourced freshly ground coffee beans" and found at least 15 brands. You are going to have to find some other way to stand out. I think the focus on Scotland is a good start:
