Actually, just came across this post that has a nifty piece of Javascript that you paste in Chrome that used to allow you to do it:

But now Chrome has decided that anyone who types something in the omnibox wants to do a Google search! And so it does a Google search on the Javascript, rather than executing the code and get us our deserved likes!
I have searched extensively and there is no longer a way to turn this off! All you can do is replace Google search with Bing Search or Yahoo search. This is another example of Google's high handed behavior, taking control away from the users. "Don't be evil"? This is truly evil!

There is no way to do it en masse natively in Facebook. They seem to have built this feature specifically to make you work for it. Also, this isn't available for pages that have more than 100,000 fans so it is really only meant for smaller brands.
It is definitely a powerful way to get new organic fans who are likely to be pretty interested in your content so it might be worth the extra time to go through and do it. In the past I've tested paying overseas outsourcers to do this.
The results were mixed. We got a lot of new fans, but when I did some estimation of how much it cost per new fan I found that it would have likely been as financially effective to simply run fan growth ads.
To be clear, by fan growth ads I mean page like ads. They can be a cost-effective way to grow your audience, but you want to be sure you are targeting the kinds of people who are likely to be your customer in the future.
You can get tons of fans for cheap if you target more broadly, but if, for example, you are a local coffee shop it doesn't make any sense to run ads beyond the local area you'd expect to get your regular customers from.
