Here are the cons:
-
Massive time investment.
-
Massive money investment to talk to certain niches with the tone needed.
-
More important things going on.
-
Agencies have such a hard time understanding we don’t want to look like some billion dollar company.
-
Generally you need a team to do this properly and that points back to all of the above.
-
Some people aren’t creative/don’t have the skills perceived as necessary
-
Fear/Confidence
-
Different marketing styles
-
The higher cost of building an engaged video ad segment to use for retargeting. (The delayed additional cost)
-
The inability for fast changes/updates/tests
-
Limits your ability to customize the landing page greatly
-
Generally comes with a lower effort put into the ad copy which removes my old audience members as we want them to watch the video.
-
Complicated usage of your product/service which doesn’t lend to a good video experience.
-
Need to reveal benefits one at a time without having to make 1000 different videos.
-
Ability to write more organic posts and base the engagement of those for future ads instead of running video ads and trying to find the best.
The list really is endless. We do run video ads now but I still don’t blame myself for putting it off for so xxxx long.
