Explanation: Facebook's algorithm KNOWS so much. If you want cheap clicks to your website, do traffic campaign... if you want more add to carts, then optimize it for add to carts. How does Facebook do this? I don't know, but I've seen it time and time again that whatever you ask Facebook to give you, it gives it to you.
Yes, in THEORY if you get cheaper traffic it will mean cheaper conversions. But in reality, you just get a bunch of clicks and very few purchases. And this is regardless of the "learning phase" or 50 conversions a week standard that Facebook tries to suggest. If you just care about profit, then run conversions with purchases. I have a lot more that I can say about this but I'll save it for another day and don't want to make this answer too long.
