Answer Question
What to do about the 'cookie notice' hurting conversion rates?
Like everyone else, we want to be in compliance and so added the 'cookie notice' on our ecommerce site i.e. by using our site you agree to be cookied and we may re-target you (click "Agree"). Problem is, it is hurting conversion rates and creating a bad experience. When we review video sessions, people pause and then leave, never to come back.
We do 90% of our business in the US and so we are not worried about the European GDPR. Can we forgo the explicit "I Agree" ask of the user and just have some text on the site that says "by virtue of using this site you agree to our cookie policy..." or something like that.
