Answer Question
How can we pre-sale a product that doesn't yet exist?
I am working on a product that I believe can be really valuable and I've been interviewing customers that want to use it. The feedback has been great so far. But I believe that the ultimate test to see if my product has a chance of fitting the market is to get sales before the product exists.
In my mind, I feel like I should be able to find customers on the bleeding-edge of the technology adoption curve, and they should be so passionate about the problem and my solution that they would be willing to pay for it based on mock-up UIs. But customers in my segment (developers) seem very skeptic about solutions that don't exist yet.
People that have done this before: got any tips?
Thanks!
