Answer Question
How effective are Facebook Stories ads compared to the general newsfeed and Instagram ads?
Facebook lost over $119 billion in market value yesterday. Apparently, part of the reason is their Stories ads haven't picked up as well as planned and this was supposed to be the new growth engine. According to the WSJ, a Stories ad earns Facebook $1 per user per day vs. $27 for the regular feed and $9 for Instagram. Assuming the price is proportionate to their value to Facebook, if a Stories ad is even 1/10th as effective as a regular feed ad then they are a steal at 1/27th the price! Anyone run any Stories ads? What was your experience? I'd be curious to test this.
Or maybe it is just a matter of time before the price difference shrinks. Initially, mobile ads started out the same way and Wall Street punished Facebook for not monetizing them as well as desktop.
