Answer Question
What do you think about this cart abandonment strategy?
I clicked on an ad on Facebook, checked out the company's product, added it to the shopping cart (just to test the competition's user experience) then abandoned. About an hour later I receive a private message in Facebook messenger about my purchase, offering me a 10% off coupon! I am thinking, hey I didn't opt-in for these, why are they messaging me?
I go back to their webistie and notice some small text that says "receive updates about your purchase in Facebook messenger" that is checked by default. This seems really scammy to me. How well do these type of cart abandonment schemes work? And what are better ways to do it. We want to maximize revenue for our eCommerce store without resorting to this kind of thing!
