Would it be marketing madness to reveal the details of a new game only shortly before release?
Historically the big studios hype new games for a year or more before releasing it. I feel like this weakens the main launch event because gamers are already fatigued by the time of the launch. But very smart buys way above my pay grade all do this and so it must have some merit. As an indie shop we would like to try the opposite approach. Take the market by storm in one fell swoop when the game is ready. Is this madness? What chance do we stand?
