What do you think about using "Dark Patterns" in ecommerce to get more people to buy?
The Wall Street Journal recently ran a story about "Dark Patterns" and how large tech companies use them to get people to do what is in the company's interest rather than the consumers/users.
How prevalent are they in ecommerce and what does the community think about using them? Unethical or just business? Here's an example from the article:
